Picture Day May 2

The District will no longer schedule student photos in the fall. Instead, student photos will be taken on May 2 this spring and will be used as ID photos for this fall enrollment. All students will be photographed for ID purposes. If you would like to purchase photos, See attachment to access an order form, or pick one up in the office. Also, Order Forms will be sent home with students 4/24/19, or you can order online at www.mymjthomas.com and use Event Password C588 to pre-order online. Questions? Call the office at 970-247-9490.

Escalante Fun Run April 26

The Escalante Parent Organization is hosting the Escalante 5K and Family Fun running event on April 26th. The one-mile fun run event will begin at 4:00 and the 5K will take place at 4:30 PM. Pre-race day registration is $10, and if you register before April 12th, you will receive a pre-ordered T-Shirt on race-day. Registration is $15.00 the day of the race. (Registration form attached below) Escalante Middle School students run free, but we are encouraging our student runners to raise any donations in the form of pledges. All proceeds will go directly to student field experience. We hope that our families come out for a Friday afternoon of fun on April 26th. We will have music, food vendors, and a terrific course. Open House for Incoming 6th Grade

Escalante Middle School is excited to host Open House for all 5th Graders interested in attending EMS next year on Tuesday, April 16th from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Student Ambassadors and staff will be on hand to answer questions and challenge participants to a scavenger hunt! This event is open to all interested 5th-grade students and their families from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Welcome to Escalante!

Durango School District 9-R Receives $1.1M Grant to Support School Safety

The School Security Disbursement program enacted by SB18-269 provides funding to improve security in public school facilities and vehicles and to support training for school personnel. The Colorado Division of Homeland Security made $29M in funds available to school districts across the state and Durango was awarded $1.1M in the grant to support its ongoing school safety measures.

Eagle Wrestling 2019 Kicks Off

We are excited to kick off our 2019 Eagle Wrestling Season Tuesday, January 22. To practice on the first day, athletes will need proof of a valid physical, athletic clothing, clean athletic shoes, and a water bottle. Eagle Girls Basketball 2018/19 Season Information

We are excited for another season of Eagle Girls Basketball! To participate in practice your daughter must have proof of a valid (within the calendar year) physical, clean athletic shoes, shorts and a t-shirt, and a water bottle. Prior to participating in the first game the following needs to be turned in to Coach Duce: Purple Travel Card with Insurance/Medial Info (obtain from Coach Duce or Main Office), Escalante Athletic For (attached), and Athletic Fee.
