Required and Recommended Vaccines for the 22-23 School Year

We know you’re thinking of all the things you need to do to make sure your student is ready for school. Getting vaccinated is an important part of their school readiness and keeps children from catching and spreading diseases that can make them sick and potentially disrupt in-person learning.

Eagle Girls Basketball 2021/22 Season News

The Eagles girls' basketball season kicks off Monday, December 13th, and runs through Saturday, February 12, 2022. Games will generally be Tuesdays and Thursdays, practice Mondays, Wednesdays, and some Fridays with a final Saturday tournament for A and B teams. Teams will have both after-school and before school practices.

Eagle girls basketball is open to all 7th and 8th-grade students at EMS. To be eligible to participate, students need to complete the attached registration checklist.

Soul Food Dinner Celebrates Black History Month

The DHS Black Student Alliance is hosting a Soul Food Dinner on February 24, 6:00PM to celebrate Black History Month and the Black students and citizens of La Plata County.

4A Bond Update, January 2022

Currently just over 15% of the Bond funds have been committed, with 85% remaining.
Local participation remains strong, with 69% of funds allocated locally (including charter allocations).

Help Create Little Free Library Boxes

Durango 9-R Student Support Services and School Liaisons are looking for volunteers to build six Little Free Library Boxes with the goal of increasing book access and reading opportunities for students in our community.

Early Access Applications Available February 1st

Durango School District 9-R has the opportunity to accelerate highly advanced gifted children under age 5 for kindergarten and/or under age 6 for first grade. This Early Access is for those eligible students if their birthdays fall after October 1st.  It is intended to support students who are evaluated to be exceptional in aptitude/cognitive reasoning, academics, school readiness, and motivation.
