Escalante Middle School Learning is active learning is challenging learning is Meaningful learning is public Escalante Middle School is on the south end of Durango and serves approximately 5 100 students in 6th 7th and 8th grade the campus is located along the Animas River and has ball fields play areas and access to nearby nature areas you're at the one I we really ascribe to our philosophy working hard and being kind and that applies both academics to also to our character development and building for a students we are an expeditionary learning school which means that we are closely aligned with the philosophy of being crew not passengers that Escalante students are really co-creators of their own learning they're not passive participants in The Learning Experience the EOL education model challenges students to think critically and take active roles in the classroom Unity resulting in Higher Achievement and greater engagement in school and they're really impacts our educational opportunities that we provide students and it allows them to actually be outside learning in nature almost on a daily basis our highly qualified staff is trained to tailor instruction to help a diverse range of Learners we meet students individual learning needs by adjust instructions to address specific learning styles abilities strengths and needs Escalante Embraces the district's portrait of a graduate instilling students with six competencies that will help them be successful in life set a collaborator Brazilian risk taker creative problem-solver agile thinker confident communicator and courageous leader I think he really cares they're deeply committed to listening to students bringing their voices into the classroom and making sure that they understand that students are individuals first and learn her second and that's right everything that we do come see why I asked Alani middle school for your student
