COVID-19 Cases Increase in Schools

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Sore Throat
  • Congestion
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
Please stay home and test for COVID-19. If your first COVID-19 test is negative, remember you may still have the virus. Please wear a mask at school if you have symptoms. If the symptoms continue, it is important to test again. If the Covid test is still negative, we encourage you to reach out to your provider to ask about testing for Flu and Strep Throat, among other viruses.

We do have take-home COVID-19 tests available in our school health offices, and we can assist older students with testing themselves in the health offices. Additionally, free at home Covid tests are are available at the health department and through this link https://www.covid.gov/tests

If your child tests positive for COVID-19, they will need to be isolated for 5 days (day of symptom onset needs to be counted as day 0), then they need to wear a mask for the next 5 days. If someone in the household is positive, but your child is not symptomatic, they need to wear a mask at school for 10 days. They should stay home and follow the above advice if they become symptomatic. For other illnesses, follow the advice of your provider.

These steps are important, especially as winter and the Holiday Season approaches. Thank you for your support in keeping our schools and community healthy!
