What is a Mars Lander?
Students will construct an improvised replica of NASA's Mars Pathfinder Lander. Students must safely land their vehicle without destroying its precious cargo (a raw egg)!

The Challenge
Construct a Mars Lander that will crash into the surface of Mars with undamaged cargo while still having the lander with the least mass.

Project Assessment
The Mars Lander construction projects will be scored using a provided rubric. Students will earn daily teamwork and construction grades. Students will earn extra points for launching a Lander on Mars with undamaged cargo and for winning the competition. Furthermore, student will earn points for creating a Mars Lander NASA mission badge, completing a NASA web quest and building a replica of the Mars Pathfinder Lander.
